Africa: Nike to be the kit supplier of Nigeria until 2018

The American brand Nike has become the official equipment supplier to the NFF until December 2018, announced the federation on 23/04/2015.

Nike replaces adidas, the German sporting goods manufacturer, which, itself, succeeded Nike in 2003, and informed the NFF that it wanted to put an end to the partnership in August 2014. The amount paid by the German brand to the federation was estimated at €5.5m in 2014.

Nike is also linked to two other African federations: Zambia and South Africa.

  • Nigeria did not qualify for AFCON 2015 African Cup of Nations 2015. The 30th edition of the African continental tournament was held in Equatorial Guinea from 17/01 to 08/02/2015. , despite winning the 2013 edition of the competiton in South Africa.
