World Leagues Association: Luigi De Siervo (Lega Serie A) unanimously elected vice-chair

Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A, has been unanimously elected vice-chair of the World Leagues Association by the 12 leagues that compose its supervisory board, announced the WLA at the end of its meeting held in London (England) on 26/06/2025.

The Italian succeeds Mexican Enrique Bonilla, honorary chairman of Liga MX and former chairman of the body, who had announced his intention to step down. Luigi De Siervo joins chairman Richard Masters (Premier League) and other vice-chair Don Garber (MLS) on the World Leagues Association management board.

Among the topics also discussed at the WLA meeting:
• "the football industry’s key challenges, including an analysis of the expanded international match calendar;
• the legal complaint filed by the WLA’s European members and FIFPRO Europe with the European Commission, concerning FIFA’s unilateral decisions in setting the international match calendar and the Club World Cup;
• the recent ruling by the European Court of Justice in the Diarra case;
• the recent and potential amendments to the Laws of the Game."
