RB Leipzig: "An estimated €5m media value generated during our tour in Brazil" (Johann Plenge)

"During our pre-season tour in Brazil, we recorded a significant uptick in new followers across our key social channels, as 78% of all our new Instagram followers during that period came from Brazil alone. In total, we generated approximately 150 million impressions across both managed and earned social media channels. From a media perspective, the response was outstanding. Over 200 articles were published by more than 50 media outlets, resulting in an estimated media value exceeding €5m and reflecting the high level of interest in our club throughout the tour," said Johann Plenge, member of the board of directors and chief business officer at RB Leipzig (Bundesliga), to News Tank on 25/06/2025.

The RB Leipzig executive speaks one month after the club's pre-season tour organized in Brazil from 23-30/05, the first for a German club in the country for over 25 years.
