OL: John Textor resigns, Michele Kang appointed chairwoman and CEO, Michael Gerlinger director general

Michele Kang (USA), owner of OL Lyonnes (Arkema Première Ligue), has been appointed chairwoman and CEO of Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 McDonald's), announced the club on 30/06/2025. She succeeded her compatriot John Textor, who has "resigned from his leadership positions at Olympique Lyonnais including the board of directors."

Michele Kang, who has been on the club's board since 2023, is also appointed CEO of Eagle Football Group, the company that owns OL. "She will take an active role in supporting OL's executive management, including spearheading the club's appeal process with the DNCG," said OL. The club had been administratively relegated to Ligue 2 BKT by the Commission de Contrôle des Clubs Professionnels as part of the examination process of the clubs' status for the 2025-26 season, on 24/06/2025. The DNCG had already ordered such a measure as a precautionary decision when examining the club's situation for the 2024-25 season, in November 2024.
