Hamburger SV: Sparda-Bank minority shareholder (7.5%) in the club for €30m

Sparda-Bank Hamburg (regional subsidiary of the cooperative bank) has become a minority shareholder in Hamburger Sport-Verein (promoted to the Bundesliga for 2025-26) through the purchase of 7.5% of the shares held by Kühne Holding AG in HSV, announced the club on 26/06/2025. The deal is valued at €30m.

Sparda-Bank Hamburg thus became the third-largest shareholder in HSV Fussball AG, the club's owner, behind HSV e.V. (the club's association, with around 75%) and Kühne Holding (13.5%). The bank, which has been Hamburg SV's exclusive partner since 2023, extends its partnership with the club until 2030.

As part of the deal, Kühne Holding AG is taking over the naming rights for the Volksparkstadion (57,000 capacity) until 2028. "This traditional name must be retained," said Klaus-Michael Kühne, owner of Kühne Holding.
