Manchester United FC (Barclays Premier League) have launched a presence on the Chinese social messaging platform WeChat, announced the club on 26/04/2015.

Users of WeChat will have access to news, videos and images from the Manchester club. WeChat is the third Chinese social media platform Manchester United are now present on. The Red Devils are already the most popular club on the two largest social networks in China, Sina Weibo and Tencent Weibo, where Manchester United have a combined 13 million followers.

  • "The club’s 107 million followers in China have already demonstrated their huge passion for United by making us the most followed sports club on our existing platforms and I’m sure this new WeChat service will experience similar success and help bring fans closer to the club," said Richard Arnold, the managing director of Manchester United.
