Ligue 1 platform: "The most innovative & popular project possible" (N. de Tavernost, LFP Media)

"There will certainly be two difficult years, but we're going to try to make the most innovative and popular project possible, with eight out of nine matches live, the ninth deferred and a free-to-air magazine. The Ligue 1 championship is strong," said Nicolas de Tavernost, CEO of LFP Media, to the French sports daily L'Équipe, on 02/07/2025.

The same day, the Ligue de Football Professionnel officially announced the creation of its platform dedicated to broadcasting Ligue 1 McDonald's matches from the 2025-26 season in France. The new service, operated and managed by LFP Media, will be available at a cost of €14.99 (with a commitment period) and its distribution has yet to be defined in accordance with the various agreements reached with operators and broadcasters.

In 2025-26, the platform will broadcast the matches for which the rights were held by DAZN in 2024-25 (initially until 2028-29 before the early termination of the contract), i.e. eight live games per matchday. beIN SPORTS France will continue to broadcast one game exclusively per Ligue 1 matchday until 2025-26.
