Premier League: partnership with Microsoft to use AI to modernise the League's digital platforms

Microsoft, an American IT company, has become an official partner of the Premier League and will be responsible, as part of a five-year agreement (2025-2030), for helping the body to modernise its digital platforms and digital infrastructure using its cloud and AI solutions, announced the English league on 01/07/2025.

This partnership, which aims to "to transform how 1.8 billion fans in 189 countries engage with the world's most-watched football league" notably includes the integration of an AI assistant into the body's official application and website. This solution extracts, compiles and analyses archive data to provide users with real-time statistics. Other functions, such as content translation, will also be integrated. Internally, the Premier League is migrating its digital infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, the cloud platform developed by the American group.
