Serie BKT: Fininvest (Berlusconi family) sells AC Monza to Beckett Layne Ventures (USA)

AC Monza, relegated to the Serie BKT at the end of the 2024-25 season, is being sold to US fund Beckett Layne Ventures by Fininvest, the Berlusconi family holding company, announced the Italian company on 01/07/2025.

The deal involves an initial transfer of 80% of the club's shares in the summer of 2025 before a sale of the remaining 20% "by June 2026." Until AC Monza is fully acquired by the fund led by Brandon Berger and Lauren Crampsie, "Fininvest will retain representation on the club's board of directors, reflecting its residual ownership stake."

This is the first investment in football for the fund specialised in media and entertainment. However, Brandon Berger and Lauren Crampsie were previously involved in restructuring Chelsea FC's (Premier League) commercial department, according to the New York Times.

Fininvest is expected to receive €30m for the acquisition, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, a sum corresponding to the €45m enterprise value of AC Monza minus the €15m in debts incurred by the club.
