Social Media/Ligue 1: 16.5 million new followers for the clubs in 2024-25, +7 million for PSG alone

The 18 clubs involved in the 2024-25 Ligue 1 McDonald's had a total of 270 million followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X on 02/07/2025, 16.5 million more than on 01/08/2024, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. Ligue 1 has an average of around 15 million followers per club.

Paris Saint-Germain is the most followed club with 181 million, or 67% of the overall total. The club that won the French top flight, Coupe de France and Champions League treble in 2024-25 gained 7 million new followers (+4.1%) over the season as a whole.

AS Monaco FC is the second most popular club in Ligue 1 with 22.2 million followers and 2.1 million new followers gained over the season (+10.6%). Olympique de Marseille complete the podium with 21.2 million followers, including 1.8 million more since 01/08/2024 (+9.6%).

In relative terms, the best percentage growth can be attributed to RC Strasbourg Alsace, whose digital community has grown by 70.8%. Next come OGC Nice (+42.7%) and Stade Rennais FC (+23.4%).
