Social Media/Bundesliga: +16.8 million followers for the clubs in 2024-25, including 7M for Bayern

The 18 clubs that participated in the 2024-25 Bundesliga season had a total of 244.7 million followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X on 02/07/2025, 16.8 million more than on 01/08/2024, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. The German league has an average of around 13.6 million followers per club.

FC Bayern Munich is the most followed club in the Bundesliga with 136.5 million - 56% of the total - and gained 7 million additional followers over the season (+5.5%). The Bavarian club is ahead of Borussia Dortmund, the 2^nd most popular club with 57.4 million followers, who gained 5.5 million last season (+10.5%). Bayer 04 Leverkusen are in third place with 15.2 million followers.

Bayern Munich recorded the biggest growth in terms of followers between August 2024 and July 2025, ahead of Borussia Dortmund and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

In relative terms, the best percentage growth can be attributed to Eintracht Frankfurt, whose digital community has grown by 28.6% since 01/08/2024. They are followed by 1. FC Heidenheim (+24.4%) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (+10.7%).
