Social Media/Premier League: +58 million followers for the 20 clubs in 2024-25, 11 million for Man. City

The 20 clubs that participated in the 2024-25 Premier League season had a total of almost 1.028 billion followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X on 02/07/2025, 58.2 million more than on 01/08/2024, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. The Premier League has an average of 51.4 million followers per club.

Manchester United FC are the most followed Premier League club with 217.6 million followers, ahead of Manchester City FC, the 2^nd most popular club with 161.1 million. Liverpool FC overtook Chelsea FC (144 million) during the 2024-25 season to complete the podium with 148.2 million followers.

Manchester City posted the best increase in terms of followers, adding 11.7 million (+7.8%) over the season. They are ahead of Liverpool, whose fan base increased by 10.2 million (+7.4%) followers between August 2024 and July 2025, and Tottenham Hotspur FC (+7.3 million, +7.6%).

In relative terms, Ipswich Town FC, promoted in 2024-25 but relegated at the end of the season, posted the best percentage growth, with a 27.3% increase since 01/08/2024. Next come AFC Bournemouth…
