Global Leagues Forum: 24 professional leagues met in London on 28/04/2015

Representatives of 24 European, Asian, American and African professional leagues, covering more than 1,100 clubs, participated in the first "Global Leagues Forum", organised by the Barclays Premier League, in partnership with the Liga BBVA, in London (UK) on 28/04/2015.

"The discussion between leaders of Professional League football was wide ranging, focused on strategies for the successful development of Professional League football in each of their countries. Whilst all Professional Leagues are different, the issues they face are the same as each looks to develop the professional game in their country. Experiences and approaches will be shared, with established Leagues committing to assisting developing Leagues across the world," said the EPFL, whose president Frederic Thiriez (FRA) and general secretary Georg Pangl (AUT) attended the forum on 28/04/2015.

The second edition of Global Leagues Forum will be hosted in North America by MLS on 19 and 20/10/2015. "It will focus on the formalisation of a new way of working together more closely," explained the EPFL.
