Bundesliga/2.Bundesliga: a record 20.9 million tickets sold by the 36 clubs in 2024-25

Germany's 36 professional football clubs (18 in the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga) sold a record total of 20.9 million tickets in 2024-25 (an average of 580,000 per club), announced the Deutsche Fußball Liga on 17/07/2025.

The 2024-25 season thus beats the previous record set in 2023-24, when 20.7 million tickets were purchased by fans. The 2024-25 season in Germany's top two divisions saw an unprecedented average home attendance of 34,288.

Of the 20.9 million tickets sold in 2024-25, 11.6 million (55.5%) were sold by the top division clubs (an average of 644,000 per club), whose matches drew an average of 38,082 paying spectators. This figure is lower than the record set in 2018-19, when an average of 42,738 tickets were purchased per match.

By contrast, sales of tickets for second division matches set a new record, with 9.3 million tickets sold in 2024-25, which also represents a record average of 30,493 per match, up nearly 6% on the 2023-24 season (28,796).
