FC Barcelona: Spotify Camp Nou return, initially scheduled for 10/08, postponed due to construction work

The Joan Gamper Trophy, the match that was due to mark the return of FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) to the Spotify Camp Nou on 10/08/2025 for the first time since the summer of 2023, has been postponed, announced the club on 18/07/2025.

Barça had indicated on 25/06/2025 that they would gradually return to its stadium in a partially reopened configuration from 10/08, after two full seasons played at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc (Barcelona) as part of the renovation and expansion work (from 99,354 to 105,000 capacity) on its stadium.

This postponement is due to the fact that the city council has not granted the club permission to reopen the stadium. "Due to the scale of the work carried out, it has not been possible to meet all the conditions laid out by the regulations governing this licence, despite the club's intention to reopen the redeveloped stadium sector by sector.
