European Parliament: report on the European Sport Model adopted by the Committee on Culture & Education

"The Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) adopted its report on the European Sport Model (with 25 votes in favour and 4 against) during its 16/07/2025 meeting," announced European Parliament on 17/07/2025.

Drafted by Polish rapporteur Bogdan Zdrojewski (EPP, centre right), "the report responds to growing threats such as commercialisation and foreign ownership, calling for stronger EU action to protect solidarity, good governance, and grassroots development. Key proposals include clearer EU legal guidance, improved financial redistribution, and a new social dialogue committee for professional sport. The report also urges greater inclusion, transparency, and support for athletes and volunteers," explained the Committee. "A plenary vote is scheduled to take place in September 2025."
