DFB-Pokal: Bayern Munich-Borussia Dortmund cup match draws 13,410,000 viewers on ARD and Sky Sport 1

The FC Bayern Munich - Borussia Dortmund match (1-1, 0-2 on penalties), the first semi-final of the 2014-15 DFB-Pokal, broadcast live in Germany by ARD (Das Erste), allowed the German public channel to garner 12.87 million viewers on average during the 135 minutes of the match (kickoff at 20:30 CET) on Tuesday, 28/04/2015.

This score represents a 42.3% audience share, and enabled ARD to achieve the best performance in the German TV market in the last seven months, since 13.22 million viewers on average watched an episode of the crime series "Tatort", broadcast by ARD on 21/09/2014.

The German cup match was also broadcast live on the pay-TV channel Sky Sport 1, which drew 540,000 subscribers on average during the programme, for an audience share across all German channels of 1.95%.
