FC Bayern Munich: Herbert Hainer to stand for a third term, elections at the end of 2025

Herbert Hainer, president of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) since 2019, will stand for a third term in the elections to be held at the annual general meeting scheduled between 31/10 and 02/11/2025, announced the club on 21/07/2025.

The former adidas CEO was initially elected on 15/11/2019, succeeding Uli Hoeness. On 05/09/2025, Herbert Hainer will present his candidacy to the Bavarian club's supervisory board, which will decide whether or not to nominate him as a candidate. Vice-presidents Dieter Mayer and Walter Mennekes will also be standing alongside Herbert Hainer.

"I would be delighted if the advisory board were to nominate me as a candidate again. I stood in the stands as a fan even as a young boy. I feel it’s a great responsibility for all of us to continuously develop this club with its unique fan community together so that everyone can be proud of our FC Bayern. Dialogue is important to me, and the club has also set standards in this area in recent years. In our 125^th year, we currently have 410,000 members - that speaks for itself," said Herbert Hainer.
