CVC Capital Partners: SportsCo created to manage the investment firm's sports assets portfolio

Luxembourg-based investment firm CVC Capital Partners has created SportsCo, an entity dedicated to managing its sports assets, according to UK media outlet Sky News on 19/07/2025.

The aim of the deal is to improve coordination between CVC's sports properties, such as sharing best practice, streamlining commercial strategies and exploring media and sponsorship opportunities. CVC has interests in LaLiga Group International (8.2%), LFP Media (13%), Six Nations Rugby, the trading company WTA Ventures LLC (20%), Premiership Rugby and the Guinness Pro14. The portfolio is valued at £9bn (€10.5bn) according to UK media sources.

According to Sky News and US financial media outlet Bloomberg, the creation of this subsidiary is part of a refinancing plan initiated by the firm. CVC is said to have commissioned Goldman Sachs, PJT Partners and Raine Group to evaluate the refinancing of its sports assets under a single structure, which could take the form of a loan or a stock market flotation.
