Man City: €34m reduction in wage bill in 2013-14 through transfer of 135 employees to parent company

Manchester City Limited, the British limited company which runs Manchester City FC (Barclays Premier League), has posted a wage bill (both sporting and administrative) of £205m (€252.1m at the time) for the 2013-14 season, £28m (€34.4m) and 12% less than in 2012-13 (£233.1m, €272.7m), revealed the accounts for the 2014 financial year (01/06/2013 to 31/05/2014) published by the English club on 03/12/2014.

The decrease in the wage bill corresponds to a reduction of 30% in the number of staff at the club, which had 314 employees on 31/05/2014 compared to 449 a year earlier, a decrease of 135 employees. The 110 members of the sporting staff and the 25 administrative employees have not left the club, but their wages are now paid by the City Football Group, the parent company of Manchester City Limited, according to British newspaper The Guardian on 29/04/2015.
