United Kingdom: BBC & ITV acquire broadcasting rights for the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027

The public broadcasting group BBC and the private free-TV group ITV have acquired the UK broadcasting rights to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 (to be held in Brazil from 24/06 to 25/07), they announced on 27/07/2025.

The two groups will share the entire TV rights to the competition. The final will be co-broadcast by the two groups. The agreement is identical to the one signed by the BBC and ITV with FIFA for the Women's World Cup 2023.

The international body had launched several separate calls for tenders, in "selected territories in Europe (including the UK) and Asia", for the broadcasting rights to the Women's World Cup 2027, on 24/04/2025.

Spain - England (1-0), the final of the 2023 edition of the competition, drew an average of 13.23 million viewers on BBC One (10.76 million) and ITV 1 (2.46 million) in the UK on Sunday 20/08/2023 (kick-off at 12:00 CET, 11:00 GMT), according to data from the audience measurement institute BARB (Broadcasters' Audience Research Board).
