United States: Walmart (retail) official partner of Major League Soccer from 2025

Walmart has become an official partner of Major League Soccer as part of a "multi-year" agreement from 2025, announced the US retailer and supermarket chain on 29/07/2025.

The entity, which is majority-owned by Walton Enterprises, will also become a partner of the Leagues Cup. "Through this partnership, Walmart will activate across stadiums, screens and stores. As an official partner of MLS and Leagues Cup, Walmart will serve fans at every step of the matchday journey, from in-real-life (IRL) experiences to merchandise coming soon, whether they're shopping for gear, hosting a watch party or connecting with their local soccer community," explained the group.

Walmart was the highest-grossing company in the world in 2024, according to Statista. In 2025 (fiscal year running from 01/02/2024 to 31/01/2025), the American group generated revenues of $680.9bn (€653.8bn, +5.1% vs 2024) and a net profit of $20.1bn (€19.3bn).
