The Canal+ and beIN SPORTS France groups have reportedly refused to sell LFP Media advertising space to promote the new Ligue 1+ platform for the start of the 2025-26 Ligue 1 McDonald's season (15/08), according to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 31/07/2025.

This situation echoes various disputes between the broadcasters and the governing body. Distributed by the main telecoms operators and the British streaming service DAZN (as of 31/07), Ligue 1+ will not, however, be available via Canal+'s packages. "We have opted out. To date, we consider that the conditions have not been met for Canal+ to distribute the new Ligue 1 platform," said Maxime Saada, chairman and CEO of the French group, to L'Équipe on 28/06/2025.

The LFP will broadcast eight out of nine live games per Ligue 1 matchday in 2025-26 via its new service, with beIN SPORTS France remaining the exclusive live broadcaster of the remaining match (for €78.5m).
