Warner Bros. Discovery: the two companies to be named Warner Bros. & Discovery Global after demerger

The two companies resulting from the demerger of Warner Bros. Discovery, planned for 2026, will be named Warner Bros. and Discovery Global, announced the American media and entertainment conglomerate on 28/07/2025.

The group, created from the merger of the assets of Warner Media and Discovery in April 2022, indicated its intention to split into two listed companies "enabling each to maximise its potential," on 09/06/2025. Completion of the demerger is scheduled for mid-2026, according to Warner, which also owns the Eurosport group.

Warner Bros. will include the studio and streaming businesses, including the HBO Max platform, while Discovery Global will include "premier entertainment, sports and news television brands around the world including CNN, TNT Sports in the US, Discovery, and top free-to-air channels across Europe as well as digital products such as the Discovery+ streaming service and Bleacher Report (B/R)," explained the group, adding that Discovery Global's properties "deliver content to 1.1 billion unique viewers in 68 local languages across 200 countries and…
