LALIGA EA Sports: Disney close to acquiring TV rights to one game per matchday in the UK (press)

The Walt Disney Company is reportedly close to acquiring the rights to broadcast one LALIGA EA Sports game per matchday in the UK and Ireland from the 2025-26 season for its Disney+ streaming platform, according to The Financial Times on 05/08/2025.

As of 06/08/2025, no agreement has yet been announced regarding the broadcasting of the Spanish top flight in these territories from 2025-26. The pay-TV group Premier Sports owned the full TV rights to LALIGA EA Sports in these markets over the 2022-2025 cycle. The free-to-air TV group ITV subsequently acquired the media rights to 10 of the Spanish league's matches per season from Premier Sports over the same period.

LALIGA launched separate calls for tenders for the broadcasting rights to LALIGA EA Sports in various territories in Europe on 04/03/2025.
