France: the mayor of Toulouse in favour of naming the stadium to make up for lower subsidies

"In principle, I am in favour of selling naming rights to the stadium. This is one of the solutions discussed with Olivier Sadran, the president of Toulouse FC, to make up for lower subsidies," said Jean-Luc Moudenc, the mayor of Toulouse, on 28/04/2015.

The Stadium de Toulouse, on which substantial renovation work began on 27/05/2013 and an enclosure which will be used in Euro 2016, is owned by the City of Toulouse. "Selling the naming rights to the stadium could be possible, but only under a model where the city remains the owner of the stadium. But this possibility has nothing to do with the future fees for the stadium," said Laurence Arribagé, the sports advisor to the mayor of Toulouse, to News Tank on 30/04/2015.

Toulouse FC (Ligue 1) paid a fee estimated at €200,000 for the 2014-15 season. The rental agreement for the stadium will be revalued after the completion of the renovations to the stadium, expected in December 2015. Approached for comment by News Tank, Toulouse FC was not aware of any discussions about the naming rights to the stadium.
