Ligue 1/domestic TV rights: €4m owed by beIN SPORTS as part of its first €18m instalment for 2025-26

The pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France has paid just €14m of the €18m scheduled for its first instalment for the domestic TV rights to the Ligue 1 McDonald's for the 2025-26 season, according to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 07/08/2025.

beIN, which broadcasts one Ligue 1 game per matchday for an annual fee of €78.5m, has been in dispute with LFP Media for several weeks. The Qatari group's subsidiary wishes to renegotiate certain terms of the contract concerning programming restrictions (alternating between 1^st choice and 2^nd choice every other week, a maximum of eight broadcasts of the same team during the season, and a restriction on showing the same club twice in succession).

According to L'Équipe on 28/07, LFP Media told beIN that it could now broadcast the same team twice in a row if the group paid the €20m in sponsorship rights to Visit Qatar (in addition to the €78.5m in TV rights).
