SV Werder Bremen: 4 sponsors acquire Weserstadion naming rights for 2025-2030 but will not exercise them

Four sponsors of SV Werder Bremen (Bundesliga) have strengthened their agreement with the club by becoming partners of the Weserstadion (42,100 capacity) but without exercising their corresponding naming rights, announced the club on 06/08/2025. The stadium will thus retain its original name "until 2030", i.e. for five seasons.

This agreement, reached with main shirt sponsor Matthaï (construction), major partner Harald Phil (metal) and exclusive partners Wiesenhof and Goldschmaus (meat producers), enables the German club to achieve its "financial goals, without having to change the name Weserstadion," said Klaus Filbry, CEO of SV Werder Bremen. These four partners "ave chosen not to rename the stadium, therefore securing the historic name Weserstadion," explained the club.

The stadium has not had a naming rights holder since the end of the 2023-24 season due to the bankruptcy of the Wohinvest property group, which was committed as title sponsor of the stadium for the 2019-2024 cycle (€3m per season).
