The OTT platform DAZN has acquired the exclusive full broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga in Japan for the 2025-2028 cycle (three seasons), announced Bundesliga International on 08/08/2025. The agreement also includes the Franz-Beckenbauer Supercup.

These rights were previously held by Sky Perfect JSAT Corporation, parent company of the Japanese pay-TV group SkyPerfecTV!, over the 2020-2025 cycle.

"The Bundesliga and its clubs have been very active in bringing the best of German football to Japanese fans, including the first teams of Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart having each separately toured Japan over the last three years," said the DFL subsidiary in charge of commercial rights (audiovisual, sponsorship, marketing, digital) for Germany's top two divisions internationally.

"Furthermore, club partnerships such as those signed between 1. FC Köln and Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and VfL Bochum and Jubilo Iwata help to strengthen relationships between the two leagues," added Bundesliga International.
