Italy/FIGC: "Football has quickly recovered from the effects of the pandemic" (2024 Activity Report)

"The Federation's support has been crucial in enabling the world of football to quickly recover from the effects of the pandemic on membership numbers (1.5 million in 2023-24, including 1.13 million players, i.e. 2.1% more than in 2022-23), with an increase in the number of registered players exceeding pre-Covid levels and placing the FIGC in fifth place among the 55 football federations affiliated to UEFA in terms of total number of registered players," states the introduction to the 2024 edition of the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio's annual Activity Report, published on 08/08/2025 (260-page document available to download in Italian).

The report covers a broad range of topics, including commercial and institutional aspects, the status of Italian teams, women's and youth activities, Paralympic and experimental activities, and sustainability.

The Italian Federation has been producing this document since 2015, which it defines as both "an internal communication tool" and "an instrument for monitoring the alignment of results with federal policy."
