FIFA/Canada: Netflix acquires TV rights for the 2027 & 2031 editions of the Women's World Cup

Netflix has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights from FIFA for the Women's World Cup 2027 (contested by 32 teams in Brazil) and the Women's World Cup 2031 (unallocated, first edition with 48 teams) in French and English for Canada, announced the American streaming platform on 08/08/2025.

"This marks a historic first for the tournament on a streaming service in Canada and a major expansion of Netflix's growing live sports footprint," said the VoD service, which plans a feature including shows hosted by "top-tier talent" as well as the production of "exclusive documentary programming spotlighting the top players, their journeys, and the explosion of the sport around the globe."

Netflix has thus completed its offer for the broadcasting of these two editions of the Women's World Cup in North America after having already obtained, on 20/12/2024, the rights to broadcast them in the United States. "With this new Canada deal, fans across North America will experience the full tournament live on Netflix, included in all plans," explained the platform.
