2025-26 Premier League: all you need to know about the 20 clubs in the English top flight

Liverpool FC, 2024-25 Premier League champions, will be defending their title when the 2025-26 season begins on Friday 15/08/2025.

Arsenal FC, second after Liverpool in 2024-25, Manchester City FC (3^rd), Chelsea FC (4^th), Newcastle United FC (5^th), as well as Tottenham Hotspur FC - 17^th in the Premier League but winners of the Europa League in 2024-25 - will accompany Liverpool in the league phase of the Champions League, which will include six English clubs among the 36 participants (i.e. 17% of the total).

Aston Villa FC, in 6^th place, will be one of England's two representatives in the Europa League. The second will not be Crystal Palace FC, despite having qualified for the competition after winning the Emirates FA Cup in 2024-25. UEFA has decided to relegate them to the Conference League "due to an alleged breach of multi club ownership regulations."
