Germany/DFL: Hans-Joachim Watzke, sole candidate, will extend his term as speaker on 03/09/2025

Hans-Joachim Watzke (Borussia Dortmund), speaker of the executive committee of the DFL e.V. (an association of which DFL GmbH has been a wholly-owned subsidiary since 01/07/2001) and, in accordance with the statutes, chairman of the supervisory board of DFL GmbH, is the sole candidate for re-election at the German Professional Football League's general meeting scheduled to take place in Berlin (GER) on Wednesday 03/09/2025.

Oliver Leki (SC Freiburg), deputy speaker of the executive committee and therefore deputy chairman of the DFL supervisory board, is also the only candidate for a further three-year term.

However, three German executives are running for the position of second deputy speaker of the DFL executive committee:
• Steffen Schneekloth (Holstein Kiel), incumbent candidate
• Oke Göttlich (FC St. Pauli)
• Alexander Jobst (Fortuna Düsseldorf)
