Borussia Dortmund: Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of the club since 2005, to run for president

Hans-Joachim Watzke will run for president of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) at the club's next general assembly in November 2025, announced BVB on 13/08/2025.

The German executive, born on 21/06/1959, previously announced on 08/01/2024 that he would not be seeking an extension to his mandate as CEO of Borussia Dortmund, a position he has held since 2005, and that he would be stepping down from the club's executive committee "in autumn 2025."

Reinhold Lunow is the current president of BV. Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund (the club association that coexists with the commercial company Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA) since his election on 21/11/2022.

"It would be an honour to be able to continue to support our club in this important function after 20 years of active engagement.
