Lassana Diarra case: player seeks €65m gross (€35m net) from FIFA & the Belgian Football Association

"Lassana Diarra (FRA) is claiming €65m gross (€35m net) in compensation from FIFA and the Belgian Football Association (with interest continuing to accrue until the judgment is handed down)," announced his lawyer Martin Hissel (law firm Dupont - Hissel) on 18/08/2025.

"Following unsuccessful settlement negotiations with FIFA, Lassana Diarra is pursuing his rightful compensation before Belgian courts for damages resulting from FIFA's illegal transfer rules, with full support from FIFPRO, FIFPRO Europe and French player union UNFP," stated the organisations.

"Diarra was involved in a dispute with Lokomotiv Moscow in 2014 and left the Russian club, leading to a dispute in the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC). Sections of the FIFA regulations prevented him from taking up a new contract offer in Belgium. At the age of 29, at the peak of his career, the Frenchman spent a year without a club.
