FIFPRO: Marcus Keane (NED) appointed chief operating officer

Marcus Keane (NED) has been appointed chief operating officer at FIFPRO, announced the international professional players' union, based in Hoofddorp (near Amsterdam, NED), on 18/08/2025.

"Marcus brings over 20 years of hands-on operational experience in the global sports industry, with a strong background in commercial strategy, brand development, and organisational leadership. His career includes work with leading organisations such as Nike, FC Barcelona Merchandising (the former Nike company that operated Barça's merchandising rights until 2018), AFC Ajax (Eredivisie), and FIFA. Most recently, he served as interim CEO of 2D Data Recording - a subsidiary of MYLAPS Sports Technology Group (sports timekeeping) - and interim managing director of MYLAPS North and Latin America."

"This appointment follows other key leadership reinforcements at FIFPRO and reflects FIFPRO's commitment to building a robust executive team capable of advancing its mission to protect and promote the interests and wellbeing of professional footballers worldwide," added the union.
