Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund obtains ISO 50001 energy management certification

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) has achieved ISO 50001 certification established by the International Organization for Standardization which, "sets requirements for energy management systems which help organisations to continuously improve their energy-related performance (e.g. their energy efficiency) by developing the necessary systems and processes," announced the club on 20/08/2025.

BVB is taking "another important step towards professional management and ongoing improvement of its energy consumption. Furthermore, by implementing the system on time, BVB also complies with the requirements of the Energy Efficiency Act (German law passed in September 2023 based on the European Union's Energy Efficiency Directive) from July 2025."

"Borussia Dortmund also had its environment management system certified according to the ISO 14001 standard last year. In this way, BVB can reduce its environmental risks, make processes more efficient, and demonstrate compliance with the law.
