2025 US Open: 78,000 spectators over 2 days for the new format mixed tournament that has been criticised

78,000 spectators attended the 2025 US Open mixed tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York (USA) on 19 and 20/09/2025, according to the USTA, organisers of the Grand Slam tournament, on 21/08/2025. Among them, "more than 20,000 fans" were holders of the "Fan Access Pass", which grants free access to the Louis Armstrong Stadium.

The tournament, which featured a presenting partner (Vital Proteins, nutrition), was also broadcast "across 17 networks in over 170 countries and territories".In the United States, "every mixed doubles match aired on ESPN linear and digital properties," said the USTA, which added that the US Open mobile app and website recorded "2.2 million visits (over the two days), a 115% increase over 2024."

This edition featured a revamped format (matches played, excluding the final, to the best of three sets of four games, with no advantage) and offered an unprecedented prize pot of $1m (€857,000) compared with $200,000 (€182,000) in 2024.
