FIFA: presidential election is item 17 on the agenda of the Congress in Zurich on 29/05/2015

FIFA published, on 04/05/2015, the agenda for its 65^th Congress, scheduled in Zurich (SUI) on 28 (awards ceremony) and 29/05/2015.

"Election of the President" is item 17 of the agenda, which also includes an address by Joseph Blatter, the current FIFA president (item 8), the federation's activity report (item 9), the financial report (item 10) and "Installation of the vice-presidents and members of the Executive Committee" (item 16).

The election of the FIFA president for the 2015-2019 period will be held at the annual congress of the body, in Zurich (SUI) on 29/05/2015. Four candidates are contending for the 209 votes of the presidents of the national federations:

• Joseph Blatter (SUI), 78, FIFA president since 1998, announced he would stand for a fifth term on 26/09/2014.
  • Announced he had filed all necessary paperwork to stand in the election on 29/01/2015.
