2025-26 Serie A Enilive: a record average attendance (37,462) & fill rate (93.7%) on Matchday 1

Matchday 1 of the 2025-26 Serie A Enilive season drew an average of 37,462 spectators per game, from Saturday 23 to Monday 25/08/2025. The average stadium fill rate was 93.7%. These are two figures that have not been achieved by the Italian top flight since News Tank Football began compiling matchday-by-matchday attendance data (2016-17 season).

These attendance and capacity records were made possible due to the scheduling of two games at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza/San Siro (75,725 capacity) on Matchday 1:
• AC Milan - US Cremonese (1-2), on Saturday 23/08 (kick-off at 20:45 CET), which recorded the highest attendance with 75,011 spectators and a 99.1% fill rate;
• FC Inter Milan - Torino FC (5-0) on Monday 25/08 (kick-off 20:45 CET), which drew 72,332 spectators (95.5% fill rate).

This exceptional schedule was due to the fact that the stadium will be unavailable for at least Matchday 23 (early February 2026) due to it being used for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, when AC Milan and FC Inter Milan will both have to play an away match at the same time.
