Twitter: €401m in turnover and €151.1m net loss in Q1 2015

Twitter registered a turnover of $436m (€401m, exchange rate of 31/03/2015) in Q1 2015 and a net loss of $162.4 million (€151.1m) up 22.7% compared to Q1 2014 ($162m, or €132m at the time), the company announced on 28/04/2015.

Advertising revenues are up 72% compared to Q1 2014 and amounted to $388m (€360.8m), or 90% of the turnover. Advertising revenues on the mobile app account for 89% of advertising revenues. Revenues abroad are $147m (€136.7m) and represented 34% of total turnover.

  • "Direct advertising has been a strong driver of growth in recent quarters," said Twitter on 04/28/2015.

The 2015 financial forecast for Twitter

  • Twitter expects a turnover between $470m (€437.1m) and $485m (€451m) in Q2 2015.
  • Twitter expects between $2.17bn (€2.02bn) and $2.27bn (€2.11bn) for 2015.
  • Twitter counts for 302 million monthly active users, up 5% quarterly and 18% year on year, figures in line with expectations.
