2026 World Cup: "Everyone will be welcome in Canada, Mexico & the United States" (Gianni Infantino, FIFA)

"Everyone will be welcome in Canada, Mexico and the United States for the FIFA World Cup next year. Over seven million fans are expected to attend the 104 matches of the tournament (instead of 64 previously, i.e. 62.5% more), which will be the biggest yet in the competition's near century-long history," said Gianni Infantino (ITA/SUI), FIFA president, in Nairobi (Kenya) on 30/08/2025.

"FIFA is working with the respective governments of the co-host countries (USA, Canada and Mexico) to ensure fans who want to go to the tournament will be able to do so," said the FIFA president, who spoke alongside CAF president Patrice Motsepe at the end of a meeting with the presidents of Africa's 54 member associations.

The meeting was held just before the final of the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2025) won by Morocco (3-2) against Madagascar.
