The Egyptian men's team, who beat the Portuguese men's team 4-3 in the final, and the Ugandan women's team, who beat the Mexican women's team 6-0 in the final, were crowned winners of the Homeless Football World Cup 2025 in Oslo, Norway, for the first time, announced FIFA on 31/08/2025.

The competition brought together 63 teams from 48 nations over eight days in a 4 versus 4 format.

"Open to athletes who have recently experienced homelessness (according to their national definition) or are seeking asylum, the Homeless World Cup uses the beautiful game to foster camaraderie, community, structure, personal development and hope to those in need," said the international federation.

In 2024, FIFA signed a memorandum of understanding with Mel Young, co-founder and president of the Homeless World Cup. "As part of the MoU, FIFA and HWCF have agreed to jointly broadcast the event on FIFA+, FIFA's streaming platform, while FIFA will also supply material and equipment, including medals and trophies," said the body.
