Rugby Europe: Florent Marty, CEO since January 2019, resigns; Jens Nielsen takes over as interim CEO

Florent Marty (FRA) is stepping down as CEO of Rugby Europe "effective today," announced the European rugby body that brings together 48 national federations on 02/09/2025.

Jens Nielsen (DEN), regional oartnership manager for Europe at World Rugby, will act as interim CEO, while Rugby Europe begins the "search for a successor who will continue to advance the organisation's mission of promoting rugby across all levels of participation."

Florent Marty had taken the helm of Rugby Europe on 08/01/2019 after three years with the Solive agency (LAFOURMI) as commercial director and then managing director, from January 2016 to December 2018. "It has been an incredible journey working with Rugby Europe and developing its talented team. I am proud of what we have achieved together during the last 7 years and confident that the sport will continue to thrive and expand. I look forward to new challenges ahead and remain a devoted supporter of rugby’s growth on the continent," he said.
