Newcastle United FC: David Hopkinson succeeds Darren Eales as CEO of the club

David Hopkinson has been appointed CEO of Newcastle United FC (Premier League), succeeding Darren Eales who has stepped down due to health reasons, announced the English club on 04/09/2025.

"David brings more than 25 years of senior executive leadership and commercial expertise across three countries, delivering results for some of the world's most iconic and valuable sporting organisations," said NUFC, regarding the executive, who has previously worked in Spain (global head of partnerships at Real Madrid CF, LALIGA EA Sports), the United States (chief operating officer of Madison Square Garden, home of the NBA's New York Knicks and NHL's New York Rangers) and Canada (chief commercial officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, owner of Toronto Maple Leafs).
