Piracy: a network of 8 million users dismantled in Argentina in collaboration with LALIGA

"In a new decisive step in the fight against organized crime in the audiovisual industry, a massive operation in Argentina dismantled a criminal network with up to 8 million paying users worldwide and a potential reach of over 20 million clients," announced LALIGA on 02/09/2025.

"The investigation uncovered a network of illegal IPTV services distributing audiovisual content fraudulently under widely recognized brands in the pirate market. The raids were part of an investigation conducted by the Cybercrime Prosecutor's Office of San Isidro, Buenos Aires, and took place in four sophisticated office buildings in Vicente López (Buenos Aires Province), carried out by the Provincial Investigations Police of Buenos Aires," explained LALIGA.

The operation was carried out by the Argentine judiciary in conjunction with the Spanish League, the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and specialist telecommunications groups Nagravision and Telecom Argentina. The Alianza, a coalition of several South American entities that aims to combat audiovisual piracy, also took part in the operation.
