International transfers: $9.76bn spent in men's football between 01/06 & 02/09/2025

"In 2025, and for the first time ever, spending on transfer fees (in men's football between 01/06 and 02/09/2025, including the special period from 01 to 10/06/2025 introduced to coincide with the Club World Cup) reached more than $9.76bn (€8.34bn) during the mid-year transfer window, representing an increase of more than 50% compared to the same period in 2024," announced FIFA on 03/09/2025.

Nearly a third of this sum, 32.7% ($3.19bn/€2.72bn), was spent by English clubs alone (see Top 10 below). Germany, in second place, spent less than $1bn ($980m/€835.5m, around 10% of the total). France came fourth ($730m/€622m, or 7.5%).

In terms of players sold (also in the Top 10 below), England also received the largest sum ($1.55bn/€1.32bn, or 16%), ahead of France ($1.27bn/€1.08bn, or 13%) and Germany ($1.25bn/€1.06bn, or 12.8%).

In women's football, transfer payments amounted to $12.3m (€10.4m), which is also a record (an increase of more than 80% compared to 2024), according to FIFA.
