IOC: appointment of three new directors, Jan Paterson, James Pearce & Julien Baehni

• Jan Paterson, appointed chief of staff to the new IOC president Kirsty Coventry, will take up her post on 15/09/2025.
• James Pearce became chief communications advisor to the IOC president on 01/09/2025.
• Julien Baehni will join the IOC on 01/01/2026 and, after a transition period, will succeed Xavier Tissières as human resourcesd irector on 01/04/2026.

These three appointments were announced by the International Olympic Committee on 08/09/2025.

"We warmly welcome Jan Paterson, James Pearce and Julien Baehni to our organisation. They bring a wealth of experience to the IOC in their respective fields, and we look forward to benefitting from their knowledge," said Christophe De Kepper, director general at the IOC.

"I would also like to extend my warmest thanks to Xavier Tissières for the excellent work he has accomplished during his long tenure at the IOC of almost 25 years," added De Kepper.
