AFC: Australia, Japan, Jordan, Uzbekistan, South Korea and Iran (6 out of 8 places + 1 place in the play-off tournament).
CAF: Morocco and Tunisia (2 out of 9 + 1 place in the play-off tournament).
CONMEBOL: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay (6 out of 6 + Bolivia qualified for the Play-off Tournament).
OFC: New Zealand (1 out of 1 + New Caledonia qualified for the play-off tournament).
Concacaf: Canada, United States and Mexico, the host countries (3 out of 6 + 2 places in the play-off tournament).
UEFA: (0 out of 16)

These are the 18 countries, broken down by confederation, that have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, the first edition with 48 teams (instead of 32 from 1998 to 2022) and 104 matches (instead of 64), as of 10/09/2025.

The six teams qualified for the play-off tournament (format decided at the FIFA Council meeting in May 2017) will compete for the last two places available (semi-finals between the four lowest-ranked teams in the FIFA rankings, then two finals between the winners and the two highest-ranked teams) during the international…
