2025-26 Ligue 1 McDonald's: all you need to know about the 18 clubs in the French top flight

Three French clubs are participating in the league phase of the 2025-26 Champions League. Paris Saint-Germain, winner of the last four Ligue 1 titles (from 2021-22 to 2024-25), are joined by Olympique de Marseille (2^nd last season) and AS Monaco FC (3^rd). OGC Nice (4^th), eliminated by SL Benfica (Liga Portugal Betclic) in the third qualifying round of the competition, have been transferred to the Europa League, where they join LOSC Lille (5^th) and Olympique Lyonnais (6^th), which was administratively relegated to the Ligue 2 BKT by the DNCG on 24/06 before being maintained on appeal on 09/07, with restrictions on wage bill and transfer fees. RC Strasbourg Alsace (7^th), meanwhile, are participating in the Conference League.

The Ligue 1 McDonald's has welcomed three new clubs: FC Lorient and Paris FC, directly promoted at the end of the 2024-25 Ligue 2 BKT season, and FC Metz, winners of the relegation/promotion play-off versus Stade de Reims.
